Before making plans to visit The Wave in Kanab AZ, you must apply for a permit, and keep in mind that this is a lottery system that many people have to apply for several times before being lucky enough to win 🎟️!!!
As I mentioned before, we got lost a few times - so unless you're very comfortable with a compass and artesian maps 🗺️, I recommend you hire a guide for the 6.5 mile hike (we ended up walking 13 miles 😂). 10/10 Best experience!!!

Speaking of struggles – know your limits, folks. This climb is not for beginners. There is uneven sandstone to climb as well as deep sand to maneuver.
You'll be in direct sunlight most of the time and don't forget about the altitude too. We didn't take our trekking poles, but we didn't miss it. While there are some random trail markers along the way, you'll need the help of a GPS. We had downloaded the AllTrails map, and it was pretty spot on.
We recommend that you prepare well and accept the challenge in summer. The weather is quite dry so it's a good idea to bring lip balm.

You MUST have four wheel drive and a high clearance vehicle to even have a chance to get in and out. Highly recommend paying the additional fee to hire a local driver/guide. Leave the driving to the professionals if you can.
As for the climbing and the waves, once again they are amazing. Highly recommended, be prepared to drive in and out.
And as for the other facilities available at this tourist spot, currently there are quite good friends, who are ready to accompany you during your fun holiday activities in your free time.

The Wave Arizona is truly one of the most amazing tourist attractions I have ever visited. It's really very beautiful.
